The first steps...
Self Installation
FatSaks are vacuum packaged for easier shipping and storage. When you receive your FatSak it will be tightly packed in a duffel bag with your cover or cover separately if you bought it at a store. There are two ways to get your FatSAk out of the duffel bag, the hard way and the easy way. The first is to try and get it out without breaking the duffel bag – good luck; you’ll need it and a lot of energy!
The easy way is to just break the duffel bag open down the seam – please be careful if you are using a sharp instrument so as not to puncture your FatSak, or yourself for that matter. Once the duffel bag is off, remove the protective plastic bag and wait, and wait, and wait. Seriously though, it can take up to 48 hours for a bag to fully inflate to size. You can of course give it a helping hand. Fluff it, roll it around, massage it, but whatever you do, do NOT open the small zip on the canvas inner bag.
Once your bag has some shape and size, zip on your cover and enjoy pure comfort.
Love your FatSak
Please note, the filling in a FatSak is a little bit like pasta – some people like it hard, some like it soft. We fill our bags to a happy medium but if you feel your bag is too firm, open the small zip on the canvas bag and remove some foam. Alternatively, if you feel you like a firmer bag, we will be glad to send you more foam.
Your FatSak will need to be fluffed up. How often is entirely up to you. To fluff, grab your bag at the bottom with two hands, lift and flip (warning: don’t do this if you have a bad back!). Your bag should turn over through 360 degrees until it is back where you started. Usually this is with the label in front at your knees but again it is personal preference. Note that your FatSak is symmetrical and will look best if you keep it that way i.e. zip straight around the middle or top, not skew.
Most FatSak covers are machine washable. If you have a bespoke material or have been told by the shop or supplier not to wash you cover, then please adhere to that advise. If however you have a normal cover, please wash on cold wash and do not tumble dry or iron.
